La Herriza is perfectly situated for exploring the heart of the real Andalusia with its Natural Parks, Castles and charming white villages like Gaucin, Benarraba, Algatocín, Benalaudid, Jimera del Libar, Castellar, Ubrique, Casares, Jimena de la Frontera, Ronda, etc...
Close to La Herriza is the gate to the last forest in Europe "Parque Natural de los Alcornocales" where you will find a 16 km track that takes you all the way through the forest and leads you to the local road for the white village of Ubrique, world famous for its leather crafts.
A local train journey from Gaucin to Ronda (50 min.) is highly enjoyable, as the train follows the course of the Guadiaro river and takes you deep through the heart of the valleys towards Ronda, where you can enjoy lunch and admire its famous ravine.
